Gender Reveal

Do I have the desire and time to capture memories when the mystery of the baby’s gender is revealed? Of course I’ll be there. How can I miss it as a photographer?

Sunday evening – a WhatsApp pops in. I was just cooking and of course have the mobile in hand and immediately read the message….

Whether I want and have time on Monday at noon to capture a few memories when the secret of the sex baby is revealed… With all the excitement and anticipation, I almost dropped my phone in the pasta sauce (and yes, it really did happen…). I of course said yes right away – what an experience: a Gender Reveal, as they call it these days.

Since due to Corona the expectant dads are not allowed to go to the baby ultrasound appointment, dear Mona thought up a very special surprise for her Nico.

She got 2 smoke bombs – one in pink and one in blue and wanted to surprise herself and Nico with it.

Now all that was left was for the little belly munchkin to show what it wanted to be at the ultrasound appointment… Everything worked out and the gynecologist painted the matching sign on Mona’s ultrasound picture and then put it in an envelope.

Mona’s mom then picked out the right smoke bomb and then it was off to the jetty at Dietlhofer Lake in Weilheim and the bomb was ignited. Nico couldn’t wait, but I think that’s one of the nicest ways to share the message with dad these days – and WOW… see for yourself what they got… A little boy. I guessed right and am so happy that I got to capture this once in a lifetime moment for them both. How awesome that I got to walk you through 2 great milestones in your pregnancy. I look forward to many more great moments.
